exposed to the elements,
threatening to ice over
with the chill of lost love.

Confidence blooms when
watered by romantic interest,
a seedling begins to develop
amidst a field of weeds.

Warm sentiments grow,
passion matures to love;
a glow of happiness tans
the skin of the once rejected.
