I still remember the day we met.

I saw you from across the room.

You didn't notice me at first.

I kept staring in hopes you would notice me.

Sure enough, you finally did.

I watched as you came towards me.

You didn't have to say a word.

I was already yours.

"I'll love you forever.

I'll never let anyone hurt you."

You whispered in my ear.

I believed you.

Shortly after, you grew distant from me.

"I can't be with you anymore," you said.

And that was it.

I didn't understand.

The next day everything was clear.

I saw you with another girl.

You were whispering in her ear.

I should have known every word was a lie.

You wouldn't love me forever.

And in the end, the only one who hurt me was you.
