I looked in the mirror yesterday
Seeing every time I lost my way.
To life's temptations, I did succumb.
How I hated the person I'd become.
As I gazed deeply through the glass,
I knew it would be hard to surpass
All the things I'd ever done wrong
And still attempt to try and be strong.
As I thought about life, what does it matter?
One more crack; the mirror about to shatter.
Living through life facing the unknown
One thing is certain: I cannot do this alone.
The only way to see myself more clearly
Was to give myself to Him completely.
To remember all He had done for me:
He gave me eternal life, guaranteed.
With grace, He wiped the mirror clean
Revealing all I hadn't before seen.
He made this mirror much less blurry
By removing all my shame and worry.
I looked in the mirror today once again
Seeing all the wisdom I'd since gained.
While the reflection remained the same,
I'm more accepting of who I became.

I looked in the mirror yesterday
seeing every time I lost my way.
To life's temptations, I did succumb.
How I hated the person I had become.

and still attempt to try and be strong.
As I thought about life, what does it matter?
One more crack; the mirror about to shatter.
