We scoured God’s green earth
In search of a place
In which we can fade into mediocrity,
Where we’ll be forgotten
If only to stop the mockery.
We want to be accepted
Like everyone else wants,
To find our niche in this world.
But we were born to be outcasts,
Shunned from a society
That has its priorities out of order.
They think your value is contained
In the number of zeroes in
Your bank account;
We value people based on
The quality of their hearts.
We tried to fit in
Unaware we weren’t meant
To belong.
We are not of this world;
We were made for something greater.
