You are my archenemy;
You try to keep me down
When I am at my weakest.
And when I am confident
In myself,
You try to tell me
I will never measure up.
When I am close to you,
You draw me nearer.
When I am distant,
You try to drag me
To your side.
You have it in for me;
Your intentions
Are the worst.
How could I ever trust you
When you do not
Have my best interests
At heart?
You have no heart;
You let your ego
Eat away at it.
Understand
That although
I may succumb
From time to time,
You do not own me.
You never will;
I am God’s property
And there is
No trespassing
On this heart of mine.
