Soon, very soon, the pain and war
of this world will be no more.
For the old will pass away,
and God will birth a new day.
The angels will be clearly heard;
hearken the truth of His word.
Then God will dwell among
those who lived lives unsung.
Tears will begin to dissolve
as our sins have been absolved.
We will inherit His kingdom
and be His when the end is come.
Jesus will descend from the skies,
and He will forever open our eyes.
Heaven’s gates too will open wide,
and our God will be waiting inside.
We have evaded what makes us
of this world: that we are dust.
Eternity will be so beautiful;
our riches will be bountiful.
It will contrast this hollow earth
where nothing exists of any worth.
Here the cities crumble and fall
because so many ignored the call.
Heaven will oppose this planet.
All will be gold, not granite.
Even the streets will be studded,
not covered with puddles of mud.
There will be no need for the sun,
for the ground will be lit by the Son.
We will walk by this light’s glory
and never stumble with worry.
The rivers will be dripping crystal;
a road will be in center, not coastal.
There the tree will bear good fruit;
we will be grounded for he is the root.
Here there will be no more night
for God will provide unending light.
We will no longer live accursed,
and we will neither have any thirst.
The bridegroom will await his bride
watching her as she walks with pride.
She will be joined to him forever,
and they will live for eternity together.

We will walk by this light’s glory
and never stumble with worry.
The rivers will be sparkling quartz;
We will each have our own resorts.
There the trees will bear good fruit;
we will be grounded for He is the root.
Here there will be no more night
for God will provide unending light.
We will no longer live accursed,
and we will neither have any thirst.
The bridegroom will await his bride
watching her as she strides with pride.
She will be joined to him forever,
they will live happily ever after together.
