Visiting Cemeteries

Missing Him

You would have turned one year;

I bring tulips to your grave

knowing you'll understand

their significance though

I'm aware they'll soon wither

not when hope could stand

six feet tall, I thought,

as I wiped the fallen snow

off the weathered tombstone

But never off my memory.
