Early next morning Evelyn drinks a glass of milk. She realizes after placing the dirty glass in the sink that she never finished studying last night. She runs upstairs, grabs her History book, and runs back downstairs, grabs her history book, and runs upstairs. She studies until 8:00 A.M. when she has to get dressed.



Robert drops Jonathan off at the town middle school. “Bye, Jon!" yells Evelyn.



"Bye, Lynn!" He yells back. Lynn is a nickname Evelyn despises. She prefers to be called Eve.



Later, Robert drops Tiffany and Evelyn off at the high school.



"Bye, Dad!" they both yell.



"Bye, girls!" He drives away.



“Eve, I got to go to lockers. Bye!" Tiffany says walking away. She sees her friend, Margaret, in the corner, and walks over to her.



"Hi, Margy!"



"Hi, Tiff! I missed you at Alex Johnson's party on Saturday."



"I know. I could not make it. My grandfather was at the hospital, and I had to visit him."



Evelyn watches them and wonders where her friends are. Someone covers her eyes. "Guess who!" the person yells.



"Hi, Derek!" She recognized his voice. He takes his hands from her eyes. She turns around to hug him.



"Hi, Eve! You know where Victoria is?"



"No, I have not seen her."
