Subhan Allah

Subhan Allah

Majestic beauty

Only one creator may offer

Such a wealth of wonder

Perfection, harmony and splendor.

Ah, to look above

In the sky so so blue

With layers of cotton candy

Floating merrily across the horizon

Lo and behold

Echoing this canvas

Mirrored, without a ripple

On the face of the Nile.

Subhan Allah,

How is it, up above?

And under our feet

For us to wonder

Allah Akbar

A call a prayer

Easy to say and to repeat

Melodious, what does it mean?

Allah the greatest

Forgive me for I barely understand

The beauty of your words

The harmony and comfort

Allah, I mimic

Your calling and preaching

I wonder at your simplicity

So easy to feel, touch and know

And yet, Allah forgive me

I am trying to assess

Make sense of my fears

Stupidity at most

How can I doubt

When every breath I take

Every sight I see

Tells me your story.

        Glorious Allah, oh Allah

Bring me back

Bring me to simplicity

A comprehension of knowing

        Learn me Allah

To be patient to accept

To put myself within your peace

Not through fear but through beauty.

Put in my heart

The faith you deserve

The gratitude I should offer

The wonder of being alive

Please heal my torment

Through the wisdom of knowing

                What others understand

What I see but cannot grasp

        Accept from me

        All merciful Allah

        Though knowingly went astray

        A comeback

       Understand my creator,

        My lost identity

        Lack of confidence

        The need to stand straight.

       Give my broken heart

        Reprise, faith and belonging

        A serenity only you Allah

                Only you may deliver.
