I feel happiness

all the better.

for the night

following a splendor

of the sunset.



I thank you Allah

for the sunrise

inflaming the sky

before the heat of day



I thank you Allah

for my tears

through which I see

emerald meadows diamond strewn



I thank you Allah

for the sands

I imprint with footsteps

and laughing waves lap up



I thank you Allah

for the shells

twinkling beneath my feet

containing many secrets



I thank you Allah

for my life

a precious gift

that I may share.
