Percy Shelly once wrote that “poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world.”  Ha!  What a lark!  Unacknowledged legislator?  Do you really think you have that much influence? Oh, this must be true because the 11 people that actually follow my writing have so much power and influence on the planet.  The 6 people that bought your mimeographed broadside don’t hold much sway in their communities.  We’re lucky to survive and live through another day.  Maybe we should be more concerned with being the acknowledged legislators of our own personal lives.  Very little grandeur or glory but a lot more honest at the end of the day

Well, legislate this

the world we like to think we run

ignores us to the max

the delusions they do mount

unending naivety
