Using a WC in a laundromat in Prague, I am amused by the graffiti on the stall. Most of it is in English although German, Czech and French are also represented. There are few drawings and some squiggly lines that seem to have no real purpose. I guess the younger generation never learned cursive but they are determined to try. Someone wrote on the wall “Czech girls have the best legs in the world but never smile.”
A few squiggly lines
earnest stabs at deep wisdom
possible humor
Underneath these words, a Czech girl (presumably) wrote: “Our emotions (facial expressions = emotions) are none of your business.” And I have to say that she isn’t wrong. Sure, a smile always brightens someone’s day but we really don’t know what’s going on inside anyone else’s mind or what’s going on in their life. And maybe she’s not smiling because you stared a little too intensely at her legs.
Mind your own business
words of advice to follow
yet you lack the sense
From my observation, I would say that Czech women do indeed have impressive legs. I didn’t determine that they smile any less or any more than any other women I’ve encountered in my travels. Makes me wonder how this guy is treating them. Most of them did smile when I had to talk to them. It helps to lead with a joke that is actually funny. It also helps to not place expectations on how someone is supposed to greet you or how they are supposed to look. I know enough to know that I’m not God’s gift to women. Apparently this character thinks he is and somehow they should have to cater to his whims.
