I’m reading an interview with Cindy Crawford. She makes a reference to Nietzsche in passing. Now I’m sure the critics will have a field day with this. “I’ll bet her agent told her to drop the name to sound intelligent.” and they’ll no doubt lambast her lack of acting ability and compare her I.Q. to that of Babe the Pig.
I’m just thinking to myself, (1) lots of very pretty women languish their whole lives as bank tellers and secretaries and retail clerks. There must be something in getting to where she’s at beyond just the looks. There’s also lots of lovely women that have actually read “Thus Spoke Zarathustra”
I’m also thinking (2) I doubt any man save Nathan Lane is worried about whether or not she’s ever read Nietzsche or knows who he is. Let’s be honest: most men don’t know who Nietzsche was either.
But certain people have to have the last say in every situation. Which is funny, because, more often than not, the ignorance they expose ends up being their own and not that of their intended target.
