It’s all

a game

we play

but

no one

ever really

gets hurt

that’s how

we justify

the madness

and injustice

of the lie

we tell

each other

one thing

and mean

the other

we say

we care

when we don’t

and say

we don’t care

when we do

the truth

is we still

act like

immature jerks

like children

that always

try to one up

one another

and never learn

to give

and share

instead of take

and take more

but fight we will

simply because

it’s in our blood

and we’re not

capable of growth

required to

be mature mates
