I had a good idea

for a poem

while I was

in the bathroom

but I didn’t write it down

quickly enough

and I forgot it

so now I’m stuck

with writing a poem

about forgetting the great idea

which makes it worse

cuz my dirty stuff

is usually my funniest stuff

although it has no bearing

in actual reality

but that doesn’t natter

what does matter

is the failure to remember

and commit it to verse

so then this becomes

the inadequate substitute

take it or leave it
