Somewhat emboldened

suddenly

as the digital clock

keeps turning numbers

but all

I have to do

is remind myself

that I have beer

I have to remember

I have enough here

to get drunk alone

and enjoy the solitude

as a few false starts

don’t inspire poetry

but at least I feel

a surge of some passion
