Seems I always
hit pay dirt
late at night
when what
I really need
is sleep
It don’t pop up
at 6:00 PM
or 9:00 PM
It always
waits until
some stupid time
like 1:14 AM
when you try
to catch some Z’s
then it won’t
turn off
when the mind
is too far gone
to keep focused
that’s why I
always hated
being a poet
