YUENGLING AND GUINNESS BLACK AND TAN

One of my favorites

is the Bass and Guinness black and tan

which to explain to knaves

is a drink that mixes

60% Bass and 40% Guinness

A spoon is used

to ensure that the Guinness

sits on top of the Bass

Of course,

there are variations

both desired and undesired

I went into an Irish pub in Philly

I saw the spoon

dangling from the Guinness tap

so I ordered

my Bass and Guinness Black and Tan

I watched the bartender

Talking to the other bartender

He made me a black and tan

using Yuengling Lager

instead of Bass Ale

came back and told me

it wasn’t part

of their normal fare

and I couldn’t get it

if I came in at a busy time

I let it slide

that I didn’t actually get

my Bass and Guinness

because the prices

were cheaper than

the bar nearby

that didn’t have either

Bass or Guinness in the first place

but I hope the bartender

reads this poem one day

just so I knows that

I wasn’t fooled for a moment

by his use of Yuengling lager

instead of the mighty Bass Ale
