FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The first time
I heard of Phish
was at the Chestnut Cabaret
at a Radiators show
It was between bands
and they were hyping
an upcoming Phish show
by playing their album
I didn’t like it
Of course, there’s
a band from San Francisco
that I didn’t like
upon first listen
How wrong I was!
They always harp
on first impression
how you never get
a second chance
to make a first impression
some folks form lasting opinions
based on one impression
and remain unyielding even
in the face of contrary evidence
Luckily, I’ve always been too wise
to subscribe to that kind
of idiot thinking
I’d really be missing out
on a whole lot
if I did
