I have

the opportunity

to broaden

my cultural horizons

I have tickets

to see a play

that I never even heard of

but the tickets

were given to me

by the female lead of the play

and it would be rude

for me to not go

I mean, after all,

she is gorgeous

and we don’t have

to deal with the fact

that everyone got tickets

and I’m not really special

cause we wouldn’t want

to hurt my feelings

or shatter my delusions

and besides everyone thinks

she’s interested in me

because of the way

I told the story

which was the truth

just not the whole truth

and nothing but the truth

but rather my fantasy version

of how I wanted it to be
