Late night watching Tom Snyder

and not even really

liking it all that much

but it is better

than Conan O’Brien

I try to tell myself

Conan already cost me

one girl so I still

have it in for that little shit

but at least now

I know who he is

which is more than

I could say

just a year ago

when the whole affair

got underway

but defeat by default

is an especially bitter pill

to swallow

and especially bitter

trying to forgive and forget

so instead my hazy

bleary eyes focus on Tom Snyder

He’s an old fuck

but what I really like

is that he’s very unlikely

to ever cost me one
