should know that I’m a whore

should know

from where I am coming

and yet

somehow you don’t

you don’t get it

where I am coming from

or the intense drive

of the poetic fire

that drives me crazy

and gives me an edge

that little slice

of token inspiration

and impassioned effort

and you of all people

claimed to understand

what it is all about

claimed to appreciate

and respect the craft

am I to believe

this fib again?

You of all people

truly should have known

 what to expect
