Tempted

by a piece of chocolate

informing me,

“Resistance is futile.”

but I still

haven’t given up

I still believe

in all the possibilities

as wonderment strikes me

as better

as I can go

lackadaisical

the rebellious fire

is being fed

and kept alive

it burns

at fever pitch

and threatens to blow

it definitely is a situation

where someone

could get hurt real bad
