I was sitting

in the North Star Bar

and I struck up

a conversation

with a lady sitting

next to me

We start rapping

and she’s really witty

she’s coming back

at everything I say

a friend of mine

keeps interrupting

our conversation

to ask me questions

about meaningless issues

I kept trying

to be polite

and get back to chat

with new lady friend

eventually,

the young lady moves on

and starts chatting someone else

My friend tells me,

“No offense

but you should still be

talking to that girl.”

Some of my friends

are really incredible

They tell me I need

to get laid more often

but then they turn around

and sabotage my efforts

when I try

With friends like these

who needs enemies
