If you do not understand
Why I shed tears in the night
Or why I withdraw away
From the friendly intentions
Of all human affection
Avoiding the holidays
And other such gatherings -
If you do not understand
Why I prefer the delight
Of little balls of soft fur
Or the virtual letters from
Sweet faraway companions
Or melancholy music
You prefer not to enjoy -
If you do not understand
The words I write in silence
About love, life and the past
Or the anguish of losing
One more precious moment
Without someone to embrace
In the deep, drifting shadows -
Then you, beloved stranger
Don't understand me at all
awesome, awesome, awesome!!!
Ignorance is bliss, you hit the ball on that. Just as long as it doesn't kill you inside.
I really enjoyed this piece. The reason you depict is to the point, yet it explains so much more in all it's simplicity.
good job, and thank you for reading my work aswell.
Amy...This stranger understands.
I can't say I totally understand because I am not you, but I'm willing to understand as much as you're willing to share. I know what it feels like to be the odd person out and yet what it's like to be the center of it all. It's hard to pick which is better because they both have follies. I guess it's really what we make of it and who we choose to help us along the way. I'm willing to help you and I'm pretty sure you're there for me, too.
Amy:
Thank you for sharing with me this beautiful poetic thought provoking masterpiece. Yes I agree with you-people never take the time and effort to know otheres. Alot of people are too locked up in their own little worlds to give any sort of effort or concern for others. My mother once told me that you can count your true friends on your one hand. True friends will accept and love you for the way you are and would never try to change one little thing. You should always be with people that make you feel good-for life is way too short:
PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID,OR WHAT YOU SAID, BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL
Thank you for sharing Amy-please take care and have a very beautiful and safe weekend.
Regards,
Dave Richardson
