My Flash Fiction Story
One normal night in Hermosillo, a hot, with clear sky night he was going to a party at a friend's house which has one of the most beautiful views in town, at the party he started drinking, smoking, talking, and dancing like every average kid in his 20’s. When he saw Mariana and hers friends enter the party and even though he already knew her from school, but for him it was like the first time he saw her. He instantly falls in love for her and after a while he decide to go and talk to her, and after a while they dance, and for both it was the perfect night.
He could only think about her, he spent 2 days thinking about talking to her, but he was too shy to make a move on her, but school was over it was the last day of class so he armed himself of courage and went on to talk to the most beautiful girl on the world, at first Mariana tried to make like she did not was interested in him but feelings like love are not easy to hide, after a couple of minutes they were hugging like if they were boyfriends or best friends. He took her to her house and she asked him to stay for a while, and he stay. For them time past like nothing until her mom told him it was too late and he left.
The next day the first thing both do was sending each other a good morning message, and agreed to go to the movies, they seemed like a very lovely couple, they were young, and the world was theirs, after the movies they went for an ice-cream and when then he asked her if she wanted to be her girlfriend, she said yes, and all was happiness and love, they spent all the time they could together, they went to the supermarket, he took bowling her little sister, and he even meet her family. When her father meet him he only told him what he was studying and he answer nothing because he has just finished college, but he told him that he is going to Monterrey to study laws and finances.
That was the first time one of them talk about going away to study, they realized both of them were going to different cities to study he was going to Monterrey to study laws and Mariana was going to Mexicali to study medicine, they realized they only had the summer to be together as a couple, because he had already a long distance relationship, and she was just getting out of one, they both that they had their days counted but they both decided to spent every second of those last days they have together in the same city.
A few days before the departure of Mariana, she decided to talk about their separation, but he didn’t wanted to because for him it has never been easy to express himself, but as all women in Hermosillo or you express yourself or they will express on your behalf, so he tried to but the only thing he really express has tears, because as soon as he tried to express himself, he burst into tears, he didn’t wanted to leave her and for the first time in his life a women understood him, because Mariana felt exactly the same way, she knew they relationship had an expiration date and the only thing they both wanted to do was spent as much time as possible together.
The date came, and they both cried at the airport, but it was inevitable to stay together so they broke up, after a month she decided to pay him a visited without telling him, to make an effort to work their relationship out, when she arrived to Monterrey’s airport she took a cab, and all the way from the airport to his apartment she was excited and telling the taxi driver all about his summer love, when she arrived to his apartment in Monterrey, she knock on the door, but there was no answer so she checked under the rug, so she enter, only to discover him in bed with another woman. So she turned around and as she came she left. A few years later he died from HIV, which he contracted from that woman which Mariana saw that last time.
