Sadie’s Song
Birds and bugs, a grassy surround,
something flighty skimming the ground.
A bounding bright light,
don't know where it goes,
it sparkles and turns
then flits and glows.
First one, then a bunch
of trees and their branches
standing in line beside cows and horse ranches.
Run through the bushes
and glorious towers,
cascades of quick splashes and
bright-petalled flowers:
take me away and
make me lose hours.
Jumping and turning
all this way and that
heaven's the mystery
of nebulous cats.
