Love,

Drapes me in a robe of passion,

Encrypting a single name on my heart,

The key that opens all doors.

Trust,

An aura of green escapes me,

Circling my head in small memories,

One I hold close to my heart.

Happiness,

Sweeping the burden off my shoulders,

Creating a blanket to cover me,

A warm, smiling face.

Friendship,

A crucifix of chains surrounding my heart,

Where if one link breaks, all the others go,

The flame that burns within me.

Enemies,

A match held to the walls of love,

Humiliation, laughter, and pain,

The wolf in sheep's clothing.

Depression,

Days of winter never seemed so warm,

A single drop of life slides down my cheek,

Wrapping me in a cactus blanket.

Betrayal,

The ripples in a calm ocean,

Watching the Earth crumble beneath my feet,

As I fall to my knees.

Hatred,

Blood stained knife approaches my chest,

Ending my life now in a pool of lies,

Knowing that my heart has given way.
