Crayon colors on the walls
Papers scattered
Books on the floor
Blanket Forts in every room
Dishes piled in the sink
The table is a mess
trash overflowing
Clothes everywhere
Some in the wash and some in the dryer
The bathroom needs cleaning
Lipstick and toothpaste on the mirrors
frustration running through the hair
Stepping on them jumping Jack's scattered
Yelling in pain as my head smacks the frame
Before falling to the floor, hand lands on the hot iron
Cuss words flying in disgust
Ice pack needed before making the beds
Kids screaming as the TV crashes to the floor
Voices can be heard, "stay calm"
Is it bedtime yet?
Dinner burning.. gotta focus
Tears forming
Mascara smeared
Bags under the eyes
Dinner finally served, baths ran
Songs and stories to help them sleep
Now it's my turn to get the rest
dreaming of the weekend to come
Maybe a cup of coffee or two
Before I know it, I'm sleeping on the couch
Waking up to start cleaning all over again
