Crimson Slave

Folder:
old poems

A slave to your own devices

You cannot set yourself free

Madness calls to you

As you return to your crimson sea

Drink in deep as they scream your name

But words fall short of now-deafening ears

Your poison now drowning your pain

Chains grow tighter on burning tears

Truth pulls you back into your corner

Broken One, have you gone too far?

Or is it that it is not far enough

To drown away what you really are

Reality settles back inside

Once again, pitiful, you have obeyed

Now chains are what keep you alive

Of this dark to which you fade.
