You can't mix silver and gold

Folder:
old poems

A man, twenty-three, overcome with grief
Naught in his pocket, his heart a faint belief
But slowly he was led astray
Promised the world and more each day
His greed guiding him, his journey sold,
You can't mix silver and gold

A young girl, her life all set out
The world made sense without a shread of doubt
Then something changed, her eyes didn't wait
Trying to pull back, it was too late
Her heart wanted both, but as we grow old
You learn you can't mix silver and gold

The tale of a Juliet and a Romeo
Their courses set long ago
Wanting love and a forever life
Everything crushed by their parents' strife
A rusty dagger answered them cold
You can't mix silver and gold

Everything is sitting in plain sight
With no violence nor reason to fight
Yet somehow things end up wrong
Life isn't as easy as it comes along
The truth is there to be told
You can't mix silver and gold

I was caught by the title of the poem, and the poem itself was very well written and marvelous. ^_^ \m/ - Aya
