Rinsed Clean

Rain droplets splash against the cheeks of this childish soul,

Beneath the misty glowing sky, she twirls with arms open wide,

Her eyes remain closed, as a smile reaches across her ever so dull expression,

The scars upon her skin disappear momentarily to her eyes,

So once again in her mind she is pure, and in the view of the world she’s beautiful,

Imperfections temporarily invisible to the momentary happiness that consumes her broken dreams,

Gushes of wind carry her, when she begins to fall as a friend never has,

Soft, sweet giggles escape from her lips as she jumps from puddle to puddle,

The sun begins to shine through the clouds,

Puddles begin to dry as her smile begins to fade,

Happiness disappears as the light reveals the scar’s that she hides,

Her head hang’s low as her moments of joy has been revoked,

The disgust she hid behind is now transparent and all is revealed,

Her eye’s fade into an empty stare, and are emotionless to another’s sight,

Just a black hole everyone’s lost when within them,

Skin cold to the touch of even the warmest of hands,

Lips sealed and her giggles drowned away in the slowing drip of rain drops,

For her traitorous battle seemed to vanish,

An excitement of freedom over came her,

She was cleaned of her inner battle,

Only to awaken and realize her joy was just a dream,
