Something really wonderful happens when you begin your journey towards Allah
The characteristics of this Donya start to slowly melt away
And you begin to adopt some of the characteristics of piety, without even knowing it, maybe.
Granted there are still always going to be things we need to work on, temper in times of anger, language, patience, etc
But your everyday lingo becomes humble, pious, and gentle.
It’s as if it enters your soul as you journey closer to Allah. Like a sort of gift that you don’t even notice is being given to you.
It’s not that these people are not in with the latest trends, or don’t understand the lingo of the time. It’s literally just that they’re not synonymous with it. They’re watching from afar, with the eyes of a wise man, knowing. And knowing that you think that they don’t know. But patient that, if you were to come on this path too, the understanding would flood you and you too would know, that people who love Allah are not aliens. They don’t stop existing in the same world you do. It’s literally just that they are no longer pulled by it, and if they are, they’re pulled by something else that satiates their soul more. I know I’m not trendy, I know you look at me through the eyes of someone who sees me as ignorant, maybe even too innocent, but I see what you see. I just don’t care for it. If you were ever so blessed, you would see just how freeing that is, and the shackles that hold you back now are wearing the garb of autonomy. A bird can choose where to safely land because it has birds eye perspective. Allah gives that to you and it’s invisible to everyone else until they free their own souls. Subhanallah.
