I lay my broken heart down

with the dirt on the ground

I am bleeding on the inside

each drop of blood a tear I've cried

leave me in a ball crying on the floor

but just remember when you hurt me again

my smile is nothing but me playing pretend



my heart shatters into a million pieces at last

I cut my hand trying to pick up the shattered glass

can you even tell from the brokenness that the heart is mine

and that up until now it was beating in my chest inside
