One night

How could she have imagined she would meet him there of all places? ¿On that night?

It was a Friday night. The sky was clear as a crystal, so clear that you could even see beyond the stars. She had gone out for a late-night walk. You see, this was the only thing that could bring her to ease. She was sitting there, on a swing, dangling her feet. Just thinking, a lot of things had changed in that past year. Something within her also changed but she just couldn’t point out what it was.

Suddenly she saw him. Standing there in front of her. He was tall, had brownish hair and piercing green eyes. He asked her what her name was, but she couldn’t make out the words, she was too enthralled by those green eyes. After a few minutes, she finally mumbled her name and asked for his. She felt as if she had met him before and maybe they had in another life.

They started talking, getting to know one another. She talked to him about that hard year. He inspired some sort of trust in her that made her feel comfortable. She told him about her parents’ divorce and everything else that went wrong from then. They talked most of the night, not noticing time flying by. They felt at ease with each other, as if they were destined to meet each one another.

They made plans to meet each other the next day. It was his last day in town. He was going to live on the other side of the world in less than twenty-four hours. It was strange was in it? Meeting her the night before he was leaving? Not seeing her again?

Isn’t funny how you can meet the right person but at the wrong time?

The next day they spent the whole day together. It was one of their happiest but also saddest day. She went to see him off, finally feeling some peace within her. She was sad he was leaving, but he gave her a piece of what she had lost.

So, she hoped that someday they would meet again and who knew maybe they would.
