He's your Dad

I took him away

The one you depended on

And you took my selfish dreams and fulfilled them

With no regard for yours.

He is your best friend and you trusted me to love him like you do.

To hang from his every word

To remember the shape of his brown eyes

The pattern of his hairline.

He has been there from the beginning

And will be until the end.

So I've taken him as far as I like,

The end of the country, the continent, the earth,

I can take him to a different universe

But he's your father

And he'll always be yours like you'll always be his.
