Never saw a man
Look at me that way
He knew what to do
He knew what to say

I was so convinced
He really loved me
But all this time
It was nothing but pity

They tell me if it looks too good
Too good to be true
To take a step back
And really think through

Shouldn't have let myself go
And felt so sure of it
Without hearing those words
Straight from his lips

I gave him my all
Poured everything out
Falling head over heals
For my own stupid ideals

I took his words
And changed them around
Convincing myself
He had said them aloud

Couldn't he see my eyes glued
on the man i was giving my heart to?
No, it was just a conspiracy
It was nothing but pity
