Howl

I want to howl
at the world!
Not in rage,
fear, or anguish,
but to acknowledge
the sheer brutality
that lies lurking
within a heart,
so the predators
will raise their hackles,
bristle at me
and be a bit easier
to see.

this could back fire they may

this could back fire

they may only be informed that they are not alone and thus be more careful about how they hide

Indeed that's true,

but the predators with that level of intelligence are a rare species and well concealed from their prey.

very true indeed and they

very true indeed

and they will porbably enjoy tormenting the howling wolf, killing its young etc etc... :/

That may be,

fate is a fickle bitch, but if so, my last sound will be a howl, and not the bleat of the sheep.

Amen

Evil hides and your poem does justice to the notion of howling to bring them out into the open - not let them hide, not be passive against unimaginable cruelty and its aftermath. Fine writing this ~~A~~

I CAN RELATE

LOVED IT! I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH A LOT OF STRESS AND THESE PAST FEW MONTHS ALL I HAVE WANTED TO DO IS JUST GO SOMEWHERE SUCLUDED AND SCREAM UNTIL I LOSE MY VOICE....I THINK IT WOULD MAKE ME, AND ANYONE ELSE FEEL BETTER...GREAT WORK! KEEP ON WRITING!

Thank you!

And hang in there, we all get that way from time to time. Venting your stress with a good howling might be a positive thing!
