I walk over to the boardwalk’s edge ending another day
Lying my arms on the end of the wooden board feeling just okay
Staring off into the summer’s sun sinking down so low, so far
The warmth it once had is now gone, making me shiver hard
I glance over and see your eyes as the sun’s last rays hit straight center
You seem so peaceful and not surprised about how cold it has gotten
I watch you as if you’re an angel who has come down to save me
But you keep catching me trying to spy, just to see your eyes
You walk over to me and I pretend I don’t see you
I pretend I’m not cold, but yet you still take off your jacket and put it on me
I turn my head and break for a smile; I realized how I haven’t felt this for awhile
I think I have just opened one new door in my life, hoping that this time it’s right
As I look at your eyes I hope they don’t disappear when the sun goes down
I think it’s right
