Through the valleys I walk with him.
He stays with me, though he could leave on a whim,
but he won't for he promised me
that if I believed in him, he would walk with me.
Not in front of or behind,
but the entire time he was by my side.
And when I got tired, and couldn't stand,
he reached out to me with his able hand.
He lifted me up on to his shoulder,
and said that he'd carry me til I was older.
When I was ready, he stood me on my feet,
and walked with me again, til I got weak.
He assured me, though it would never come with ease
that he would never let me fall further than my knees.
So every time when I pray,
I know he's walking with me, the entire way.
Jesus saved me this I know,
but not because the bible says so.
I only know because when I tire,
it's Jesus Christ who carries me through the fire.
So there's no use, or reason to hide.
When you feel him begging and pleading,
remember that you helped cause all of his bleeding,
and when you start to run, remember, no matter what,
it's just Jesus, wanting to be by your side.
