Are Neyo, Jamie & Fabolous the only guys that think it’s sexy when a woman wants but doesn’t need you?



Why is it that when a man sees a woman that works, pays her bills on time, maintains a household & parents her kid(s) he’s quick so say, “You don’t need a man”? I hear this all the time & I don’t understand it! How can someone make that determination when they’re on that outside looking in?



Does a sista have to be broke all the way down: homeless, hungry & walking (barefoot) for a brotha to feel needed? Hell, I have plenty of needs. I just don’t go around ‘begging’ and putting all my business our there.



I have a pretty good job & (thanks to child support) am able to pay mine & my daughter’s living expenses on a monthly basis, but I need to be saving some money for a tough times & for my daughter’s college education (cause right now all I’m doing is paying bills). I have a fairly nice home, but it needs work & I desperately need someone to help me get my yard together. It looks a mess! My home is furnished with the basics, but I need new living room, bedroom, den & kitchen furniture. I do pretty good juggling all of the responsibilities that come along with being a single parent & a home-owner, but there are definitely days when I need someone to help me carry the load. I have a decent, reliable car, but right about now it needs to be washed like a mutha (vacuumed, & armor-alled) The tires need to be rotated , the outlets that let you plug up cell phone charges, iPods, GPS systems & such stopped working so now my baby can’t watch her DVD player. That needs to be fixed. Sometimes the power windows on the passenger side won’t work. I need someone to figure out what’s causing that! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME start the gas blower I bought months ago & haven’t been able to use yet. I need somebody to go up in my attic & change the filter on the AC unit that’s up there, cause I ain’t going up there. Hell, I need someone to (purchase &) install the expandable attic stair thing that I’ve seen in all homes except mine! Right now whoever goes into the attic has to use a ladder.



In addition to all those things I need someone to enjoy life with. I love to travel, bowl, go to the movies, concerts, comedy shows, picnics & tons of other stuff. I need someone to attend functions with & to cuddle up next to, and to compliment me, and to comfort & encourage me. I can do some of these things with the awesome girl friends that I have but some (if not most) of them are best done with a companion of the opposite sex. J

Seriously, what are your thoughts on men & ‘independent” women? What do they really want? Are they intimidated by a woman that “hold her own”? What is it that men what to be needed for?
