there is a place around the bend
where songbirds gather from end to end
where lovers speak their prayer and dream
and poets pen their song of spring
the place that sits around the bend
speaks the breeze and breathes the wind
beneath the shade of acorn trees
indwells the oak and autumn leaves
there beneath the air and shade
bequeathed the care that broke then made
each request which took and gave
the coward's slight and soldier's brave
there is a place where hearts will meet
by the guiding hand and striding feet
there is a river in this place
there is no fear there, no disgrace
i seek the place where heart will find
rest from burdens and peace of mind
a heart unknown that will be mine
will there be found in passing time
i know not where the place will be
but only that it's the place for me
trials will end that i have yet to face
my soul is well: there is a place
