drifting, falling, nodding off to sleep
my eyelids (heavy curtains folding)
eclipse upon spheres of perception
as blackness veils a shutter of light;
a thrumming metronome throbs, pulsating
effortlessly against a barricade of sound;
respiration becoming stilled, unbecoming breath;
my exhalation inhales an underwhelming sonder
as realization curtails my sense of anonymity.
