Lady Wisdom
An esper's cordial whisper had echoed in my ear,
Arrayed in brazen crystal and drawing calmly near:
Her eloquence inerrant, her visage cooly laid
Upon the air apparent and readily displayed;
In veiled nocturnal vision as I laid unawake,
Majestic in her wisdom, the lady softly spake,
"Come hither to me child, discerning, I implore,
I shall guide thee in the grace thou hast been yearning for."
Her temperance was stoic, her locks a woven braid,
Her countenance heroic, her posture unafraid;
Pearls graced her bosom, she wielded a firebrand,
Her helmet, donned salvation, faith shielded her left hand;
A zealous cloak her garment, her legs wore grieves of peace,
Righteousness, her armament, her boon, the Golden Fleece.
"Draw nigh, my child, draw nigh, awaken from thy sleep,
Make thy home of dwelling the high fortress of my keep."
Mezmerized in wonder, I awakened from a dream,
At the sound of thunder and a lightning shining gleam!
The radiance of Wisdom, glorious in power,
Stirred me from my slumber upon the witching hour;
I lay abed in fervor, strengthened in my faith,
A desperate observer of her stupendous wraith.
"Deny thyself the fleeting fowler's snare of pleasure
Take up thy cross and follow to find thy greatest treasure."
