that came in waves and pierced as swords
for where she left is when he came
and well she was worth all the pain
take up courage, strengthen your will,
stand to brave the dark until

whether near to heart or far away
breathe, my dear, drink in life
come surge of thunder or winter’s strife
your hope awakens from its slumber
