I welcome the seasons
For you never change
As the scarlet leaves of autumn descend
As quiet crystalline snowflakes blanket the land
As the scent of blossoming flowers coalesces
Into the lingering heat lightning of summer
I find you in the lingering sunlight of dusk
In the afternoon breeze that rustles the alders
In the sparkling newness of silver dawn mists
And we are born each minute
And we die like ephemeral mayflies
As we softly inhale the eternal essence
The lush blanket of life that flows like the Amazon
The cascading reeds that carpet the shoreline of the Nile
Our spirits always returning to the rivers
The shoreline
The mountains
And the sea
