THE HOURI

Let night croon
Like hyenas howling
There's no rest, peace, no love.

Let moon swoon
Let the wolves howl more
There's no lullaby for me.

Let noise reign
All through the night
But can I forget my Daphne?

Ah, the dawn,
When she in her night gown
Looked beautifully lovely!

Velvety green!
Adding to her charm!
A houri was my sweet Daphne!

Sleep tiptoes
As the green and white
Bring back her who enchants me..

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem too is about my first love Daphne John. Again, this was found inside an album of photographs taken more than 15 ago.
