God Almighty, the Creator of all,
"Made Adam in His Image" --
As related in the Holy Bible.
He made the angels prostrate,
And humble themselves before Adam,
And every angel obeyed Lord God,
Every one of them save Satan,
Whose argument with His maker was:
"You made me from smokeless fire",
"And this man you made from dust";
"So I feel I am superior to him".
"And will never ever bow to him",
"Even though You are the Almighty";
"I can't, O God, obey Your decree".
Thus Satan fell from his spiritual height,
Becoming mankind's avowed enemy.
"God created Adam in His Image":
And made him His "successor on Earth".
Yet what amazes and surprises me,
Is that even though Our Creator,
Made "us" in "His own Image";
There are humans -- men and women,
Who choose to make God in the image,
Their imagination contrives for them,
In sketches, paintings and sculptures.
Some make God look like animals:
Elephants, monkeys, snakes, idols,
With hideous faces and demon forms.
Defying sacred and sanctified norms.
Some make their riches and wealth,
Beautiful women and even children,
Adoring them with love meant for God,
Ignoring that trees sprout from a pod.
Some have the best demented minds,
With imaginations which have gone berserk,
And worship rivers, witches and even graves,
Dragons, genies and sorcerers too.
How low have some of us fallen,
Worse than vultures feeding on rotten,
For I have not seen an ant or scorpion,
Creation worshiping creation.
"Our Father Adam made in Gods image".
And instead of paying him due homage,
How, His unique greatness was 'idolized' by,
By Michael Angelo, a Vatican Pope's 'sage'!
How Satan helps such souls to paint and carve,
Images of the Lord on ceilings of clay;
Mixing rock with sand, stone, lime and grime,
Making people call it as fresco art's prime.
Our Creator made us spiritually great:
And His "successors", meant to serve but Him,
Yet the devil and his band of slaves,
Lurk to influence us with their sway,
By decorating as "art" nude sculptures,
Of kings and queens in a shameless way!
The King of Earth, skies, mountains, oceans.
Who rules and governs all dimensions,
Knew how all this was bound to happen,
So He ordained the Day of Resurrection.
And on that day the idol-worshipers,
Will have nothing to plead or to pray:
As to why most of them joined the devil,
Making idol-worshiping flourish and stay.
And why thousands were made to adore
Artifacts, statues and appease the gay.
Why they became the foes of those,
Who love God most and to none else pray.
Aren't such amongst us entranced,
And treading wildly on the devil's way?
While God, the most wise, made us His best,
And sent Prophets as leaders in truth's quest?
Didn't God send Noah and Abraham,
To save the ones fallen from Eden?
Didn't He give Moses the Commandments,
After saving Jews from Egypt's tyrants?
"That Thou shalt worship no god but Me",
"Nor shall ye place any image beside Me"?
Did He not tell David, Jacob and his sons,
To worship Him alone, the only true One?
Did not our just, loving and merciful Lord,
Convey the same message again and again,
Through the Virgin Mary and the Messiah,
That none but He is worthy of worship?
And did not Christ tell the Jews and Romans,
That he was the Messiah, the "promised one"?
Weren't his teachings like Moses' Commandments,
Highlighting God's rewards and punishments?
Did not "Muhammadim"* Christ's successor,
Come as the last of God's true messengers?
Did any messenger of God, prophet or saint,
Come with the message of idol-adornment?
Search the scriptures of each nation,
To find out the end of undue attraction,
That brings but doom and destruction,
To idol-worshiping civilizations.
The truth is that to God belongs this whole domain,
Everything on earth and above proves His reign,
That God is One and needs no one,
To share His rule of His infinite kingdom.
So, woe to the idol worshipers and to those,
Who worship not God while in Satan's throes!
And that praise belongs to my God Almighty,
Whose love makes me worship Him and Him only.
He made me His "successor on Earth",
And made the angels bow down to me.
I am not deceived by the devil's contraptions,
Or sharing my love of God with none.
Even I am an artiste who makes words glow,
As an inspiration which He does bestow,
Lending my poems a fascination,
Proclaiming His greatness His alone?
I believe there is none worthy or worship,
But the Lord of all worlds, God -- the True One.
Yes, even I appreciate the art works of sages,
And admire the finesse of their images,
But beyond that I stop, not losing my self,
To worship any devil, image, idol or elf.
For, my intelligence and imagination,
Cannot fathom God's greatness in my vision.
My curiosity too does not permit me,
To belittle Him -- in words and action.
Why, O you few, who worship images,
Deny Him Who pervades time and ages?
Aren't we writing our own damnation,
By worshiping false "gods" than the true One,
And to Whom belongs all dominion?
I proclaim that there's no god other than He,
Image worshipers, His Light can't see:
I see the universe reflect His grand glory,
Ah, If only your 'blind hearts' could, His Truth see!
