Blue evenings and black nights
Neon signs flashing bright
Young and old having a good time
I am happy to hear songs that rhyme
Then I see a poor lonely child weeping
Sitting on a roadside platform -- begging
Someone has bashed up one of her eyes
She looks so innocent even when she cries.
I call up a friend who works for the poor
And runs a charity body that provides shelter
To little children -- girls and boys -- abandoned
By the very man and woman who made them happen.
I am dejected and rebel at the world's selfishness
And bravely stand up to defeat the heartless
And when the van comes to take the girl with them
My inner being is more at peace with earth and heaven.
We must all do all we can for each downtrodden human
Only then can we claim to be Adam and Eve's children.
God did not create us just to worship Him
He made us to make yet another beautiful film
Which is shown to the angels high up in the sky
Focusing on our innate goodness than the evil within.
Love the poem, and good for
Love the poem, and good for you for helping that child!
