She often reminds me of "Annabel Lee"
And I often look up
At the slowly rising stars
And smoke away a cigar
While flipping through her photographs
In my digital camera...
Love has a control all its own
On all true lovers
And I am not different
She and I are incurable romantics
So we were bound to meet
And interact and fall in love
The heart is a strange organ
Full of deep and often concealed feelings
And my love for my beloved, rare woman
Is also a "many splendourous thing"
Is it a "Roman Holiday"?
Or is it "Laila and Majnu"?*
Or is it going to be
Like it was for Heathcliff
And his undying love for his sweet Cathy?
I cannot get to grapple
With the mysteries that love hides
So skillfully in our hearts
Only to make us long and pine
To be each other's forever
May God's will let it be so...
